Allergy Notice:
Please be aware that in my home also live
3 cats. I really try to keep the cats away
from my fabric and work area, but, as
anyone who has cats knows, it's
impossible to keep all the hair away.  If
you have any allergies, or are concerned
with the merchandise coming to you,
please let me know.  I'll be sure to wash
and package your goods in a pet-free
facility.
Need to contact me?  Please e-mail me,
Justine Gaster-Sult, the artist of all these
handmade items and webpage.

  • All fabrics are pre-washed and
    pressed before, during, and after
    working with.
  • I take lots of time cutting
    accurately, sewing precisely, and
    thoroughly checking over my
    work for imperfections.
  • All seams are serged with my
    Janome serger.
  • Applique work, top-stitching and
other work is done on my
    Babylock sewing machine.
  • All appliques are worked with a
    stabilizer that gets removed once
the work is done.  This way the
applique has higher loft and the
    background fabric does not ripple.
  • Ruffles, tiers, side-seams on
    pants, and necklines are top-
stitched down to give them weight
so they lay nice and flat like they
    are supposed to.
  • Waistbands feature concealed
    seams, top-stitched neatly on the
outside so the hidden serged edge
    doesn't rub against your skin
    uncomfortably.
  • ALL HEMS are double-rolled for
    a professional look.

Believe it or not, my garments look as
good on the inside as they do on the
outside!

  • Pockets feature a  double-turned
    top edge, and reinforced stitching
    at each top corner.
  • Each item features my own
    Potomac River Goods tag
    stitched to interior seams.

With the exception of some patchwork
and/or occasional applique work, ALL
fabrics used here are SUPERB quality.

I use quilt-shop fabrics, hand-dyed
hemp, soy, and organic cottons.

The quality of your garment reflects
down to the fabrics that make it--and
these are NOT cheapo craft fabrics!!!

The fabrics used here can sometimes
cost up to 3 times more.  I figure why
invest all this time into a piece of clothing
that will wear out too soon?

Quilt-shop fabrics are meant to last a
lifetime.

You get what you pay for.

All threads used here are made in
Germany.

Here at Potomac River Goods, you can
rest assured that your garment, bag, or
other item is meticulously made.
I DO NOT MAKE CRAP.
I put TONS of love and energy into
each item and you will feel it when you
wear it.

I prefer to use USPS Mail for shipping my items, because it is a reasonably priced shipping company that I personally trust.
Insurance is NOT included, and is optional, but I cannot be held responsible for items that gets lost or damaged in
the mail once I send it off
.  Insurance varies on value of package, and starts at $1.65.  USPS shipping prices vary per product.

I ship via USPS Global Priority, which varies greatly in rates and shipment times.   Please contact me with your address for
shipment quotes.
Privacy Policy
Potomac River Goods cares about your
safety and privacy during your
experience on the internet.  I promise to
not share any of your personal
information to any third party or group.
Each transaction is handled ONLY by
me, as I manually type in your credit
card information when your sale appears
on my order page.  Yahoo supports
encrypted secure credit card processing
with its' shopping cart system.
A note about my pricing:
The costs of fabric, thread, zippers,
hook & loop tape, buttons, and other
materials & notions used in creating your
personal unique piece are reflected in my
pricing.  The labor for me means how
much time it takes me to prepare the
fabric, make the piece, photograph it,
and to list it on here or eBay.
Please do not contact me and tell me
that you don't have much money but
want one of my items
.
It is an insult to me for someone to ask
for reduced prices.  However, if you are
interested in getting more than 1 piece at
one time, I may offer a slight discount or
free shipping.  It's best to join the
mailing
list to find out about more deals!
Trades
Please ask me if you are interested in
trading!  I can't take all requests, but if
it's something I need, you may get a
sweet trade in return!  It feels so good to
wear and share the treasures of many
other fantastic artists out there.  I'm
realizing more and more just how
important it is to support independent
artists and to rely less on some of the
overseas companies that are honestly
quite frightening at the moment.
Learning about Sewing
I get really excited when I hear about
more people sewing or picking up some
other crafty skill. I've learned all my skills
thru trial and error and by reading a
LOT!  I read all the books I could get
my hands on, starting with quilting
books, to get me going on patchwork.
So I suggest reading about fabric and
sewing techniques, and even taking apart
an old piece of clothing to see how it's
made.  Sewing isn't necessarily that hard,
it just takes a lot of patience.
Hold/Layaway Terms:
Items can be placed on hold for a period
of 10 days for payment to process.
After 10 days, the item will again be
available for sale, and future holds for
that particular customer may be denied.
I require no less than 30% deposit plus
the cost of shipping on items for
layaway.  Payment schedules will be
determined via e-mail or phone
conversation, and be made in no fewer
than bi-weekly deposits.  Items placed
on layaway must be paid for within 45
days.
All deposits are non-refundable!
